Born in Roxborough, Co. Galway, Lady Gregory was one of the leading figures of the Irish Literary Revival, founding the Abbey Theatre in 1904 together with W. B. Yeats. Along with her successful plays, her translations of Irish mythology, “Cuchulain of Muirthemne” (1902), are considered most influential.
